What do our doodle talk about
We automatically, without thinking, draw on paper asterisks, spirals, squares or arrows … what it means? Psychologist decrypts the hidden meaning of such doodles.
Meeting from which you will not leave and do not tell you what you think in fact. Boring lecture. Protiant telephone conversation. We draw when we cannot aroused. Caise and dragging, black.
"We all draw such badges from childhood," Natalia Eviversikov says, it does not require special skills. We do it spontaneously, as if in addition to your own desire, not worrying about the aesthetic side of the drawing, because our creations are not intended for foreign eyes. ". Most often the leaves and leaves falling into the garbage basket.
What motives us to paint paper? We draw when the soul is restless when we are dependent on the interlocutor, forced to listen to him, without the possibility of replying or stop talking. "This is a kind of outstand at the moment when we are not able to change the situation," explains Natalia Eviversikov. – Doodle helps us get rid of emotions filling us, concentrate and calm down.
In addition, drawing is a simple socially acceptable action, we will not be at a meeting to swing their hands or build grimaces. When we are limited in actions, spontaneous hand movements easily remove the internal tension – as if the valve opens, steam leaves, and the boiler does not explode. We can express the attitude towards the fact that we have already happened, or attitude to the future: let it not work as I want, but I can portray my desires ".
Geometric patterns, mugs, labyrinths, pointed forms, squares … Adults of different nationalities, origin, culture and epochs draw in the fields the same thing: as a rule, it is very simple forms, characteristic lines, unambiguous objects.
French psychoanalyst Jean-Tristan Bernard pushed the hypothesis, according to which the doodle of an adult is the unconscious reflection of that "geometry", which is formed in early childhood, when the baby is first faced with the objects of the world.
At the same time there are associations between geometric shapes and sensations – anger, joy or offend, which the child is experiencing when sucks maternal breasts or mastering the defecation process … Later we involuntarily choose these outlines to express our psychological state.
"Perhaps, in his drawings, – says Natalya Evsikova – we unconsciously reproduce the associative links between the various spatial forms and primary pulses. We remove stress, organize their feelings, as if once again "collect" themselves ".
It is because this activity calms us, encourages or helps to concentrate. These figures can be compared with a cigarette smoker. Drawing – a harmless hobby … but not for the pride event was organized on the basis of their number, it can be easy to estimate the extent of their (un) success among the audience.
"As we age, we draw doodles less often or even stop doing it, – says Natalya Evsikova. – Apparently, over the years, we are still learning how to handle uncomfortable situations for us, the words ".
